In 2007, the incident of then-16-year-old Daniel Patry brutalizing and murdering Gabriel Kuhn, who was four years younger than him, was reported in several newspaper headlines. Gabriel killed his friend because he was not repaying the $1.55 loan he got from him.
The blood and savagery of the incident shocked all of the world at the time, primarily due to the age of both the perpetrator and the victim and secondly because the motive behind the incident was so weak. We are now 15 years later and still debating the reason teens would kill another teenager for something that absurd.
Gabriel Kuhn and Daniel Patry were in the same year when the Ugly Incident occurred.
Daniel Patry and Gabriel Kuhn have been friends since they met in Blumenau, Brazil, in 2007. It’s still unclear whether the two were close friends prior to the event, yet they do have some similar passions. This can be seen in their participation in playing video games together at a local gaming centre in the region.
The game that caused Daniel’s death was a role-playing online multiplayer game known as Tibia. The game was the creation of a German company called CIPsoft which is a gaming firm founded in 2004 by four German students who were Guido Lubke, Ulrich Schlott, Stephan Payer, and Stephan Vogler.
The tibia was launched in 1997 and is considered to be one of the first, longest-running online multiplayer role-playing games ever created. It also put the point of no return for Daniel’s tragic death.
It is not certain whether the Boys were Friends.
This is a different problem that isn’t sure as no one other than both of them knew the full nature of their relationship. They had clearly been bonded by their love of video games, but it remains to be determined whether they were other than game friends.
At the moment, Gabriel was a little older than his victim, so it may not be a stretch to say that they may not have been very closely related at that time. There are reports of the incident that continue to confirm the notion that they were just video game enthusiasts and not much more.
Despite how casual their interactions maybe there was never any aggression between the two teens until the incident occurred.
A $1.55 Debt was lent to Daniel’s murder.
It was a coincidence it was among the most played games around the world at the time. To earn more points and advance in Tibia, the player had to upgrade from a normal account to a higher-quality one. The upgrade process was not free and was a few dollars.
In addition, the fees were paid monthly if the player wanted to get greater benefits from the game. The reports from the Brazilian police revealed that Gabriel had taken cash from Daniel to help upgrade his account. The loan was believed to be worth 20,000 in virtual currency. This is the estimate of the value of 1.55 American dollars.
So, the youngster of 12 got the loan from his “friend” under the precondition that he pays it back within the shortest period of time. The truth was that instead of repaying the credit, Gabriel blocked his friend on the internet and then was AWOL. This had a major impact on Daniel, and poor Gabriel suffered a heavy price for it, as you’ve probably guessed already.
Daniel Patry Murdered Gabriel Kuhn in the Most horrifying Way and then Dismembered Him.
In 2007 Gabriel Kuhn was tortured and ultimately killed at the hands of Daniel Patry over a miserly $1.55. It’s difficult to comprehend how something as trivial as a game could cause someone to murder another. There was a root basis for Daniel’s behaviour: mental illness.
It is believed that Daniel was quite a flamboyant child and was so bad-tempered that his parents were forced to admit him to therapy. The report stated that Daniel never finished the therapy sessions, despite being involved in other teenage behaviours, such as missing homework and not attending classes.
Uncontrollable anger caused him to harass and threaten Gabriel for more than an entire month. The night that the crime was committed, following making contact with his mother to make sure she was not returning home, Daniel tracked Gabriel to his home.
He manipulated the already suspicious Daniel to open the door to his use under the pretence of trying to get an apology. As soon as Daniel opened the door to him, he swarmed at the smaller boy and smashed him until Gabriel (Gabriel) began bleeding.
It is believed that Daniel laughed when Gabriel fell to the floor. However, Gabriel threatened Daniel about sharing some shocking information about his family, and Daniel snapped out of control. Daniel Patry found a rope and used it to smother Gabriel.
However, other reports have stated that Gabriel did not die from asphyxiation but from excessive bleeding as a result of being cut up. The ill teenager cut off the legs of his friend and took out his middle and thigh parts. All of this took place when Gabriel was alive.
The body was hidden inside the attic of Gabriel’s home, and the dismembered legs were discovered on the property of a neighbour.
The Killer was sentenced to only 3 years of imprisonment
Indeed, Daniel Patry was soon arrested for killing Gabriel Kuhn and was sentenced to three years of juvenile prison. The police’s investigations have discovered that it was Tibia that was the cause of the Tibia game that caused the whole ordeal, and Gabriel passed away from excessive trauma to the body.
Patry eventually confessed to the crime. In addition, the man admitted to trying to hang Daniel initially; however, after noticing his weight, he decided to cut him into pieces by using the saw instead. Patry was sentenced to three years, which many consider excessively lenient considering the severity of the crime that he committed.

Where is Daniel Patry Now?
Daniel Patry is currently in the custody of the police. In 2010 Daniel Patry was released from prison for juveniles in which he was held. There is currently little information on his whereabouts since he and his family disappeared shortly following his release.
It’s extremely worrying that a criminal seems to be still free in the present. All personal information regarding the ex-convict, who is now 31, is removed from search engines due to privacy and security concerns.
